Chalk 101 - An Intro

Since I started chalking in 2014, I’ve browsed all over the internet and the social media accounts of incredible artists, I’ve purchased different marker and chalk brands, experimented with different erasing methods, and tried out different board surfaces. I wished so much that someone could give me a whole list of answers for all of the questions I had. I was curious about the ‘how-to’ for chalking, lettering, digital design, all of it! I messaged other artists for advice and tips. But there is just so much information scattered everywhere.

I’m hoping to put all of that in one place so that you don’t have to look everywhere. This is your source for chalk tips, how-to’s, don’t do’s, and tell all. This blog is about what I discovered through trial and error. I’m still learning so much, but in the meantime I want to help anyone who is just starting out in their chalk endeavors or just curious about this art. Maybe there’s something here that can change your mind about a product; maybe there’s something you can relate to. Maybe there’s something else you can add more insight to and make it even better! I want to save you money and time by telling you the exact results and mistakes I had to learn from.
